There are people we admire because of what they accomplished. There are others who quietly change the way we see the world.

Hypatia became one of those people for me.

When I first learned about her, I wasn't drawn to her because she was a mathematician or a philosopher. I was drawn to the way she moved through the world—with a curiosity that refused to recognize the boundaries between disciplines. She seemed to understand that ideas are not meant to live in isolation. Mathematics could illuminate philosophy. Philosophy could shape public life. Learning itself was an act of connection.

Over time, I realized that was the kind of thinker I wanted to become.

Hypatia's Muse is my attempt to follow that instinct: to gather questions, wander across disciplines, and trust that understanding often begins where unexpected ideas meet.
